Rabanne Million Gold for Her Pure Diamonds: Pure Crystal at Best?

It hasn’t even been a month since I went on and how strange the Valentino Born in Roma flanker names are getting and now we have a similar issue with Rabanne. The Million Gold Collection began in 2008 with bottles shaped like gold bars. That’s either quite strange or very normal for the year considering it was famously the year of the global financial crisis.

SInce 2008, there have been approximately a million new perfumes added to the collection. Okay, it’s 35 but that does feel like a million. The Million Gold for Her section of the collection coming in the beautiful, not-tacky, faceted bottles only began in 2024 and we already have the fourth flanker for it.

Gigi Hadid became the face of Million Gold for Her. Not too far behind her younger sister Bella Hadid who founded her own fragrance company, Ôrəbella in the same year. She is the face of all four Million Gold for Her perfumes.

Here are all four:

Million Gold for Her

Year

2024

Key notes: Vanilla, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Musk, Pear

It’s a very well rounded, easy-to-like perfume. None of the notes are overpowering. We have a crisp, watery pear to start and then fresh jasmine, light lavender. The ylang-ylang is inoffensive even for someone who can’t usually tolerate it. The musk has a tinge of salt to it, but it isn’t too noticeable. It’s a perfume you could receive as a gift and be happy about.

Million Gold for Her Parfum

Year

2025

Key notes: Jasmine, Lavender, Solar Notes, Sandalwood, Vanilla

The jasmine doesn’t feel very strong here, at least to me. It’s heavier on the vanilla, making it better as a night time perfume. It complements the creamy sandalwood base well and together, the parfum concentration is rich, creamy, and alluring.

A slightly more risky one to give as a gift as with most perfumes that aren’t light. But if you do want to busy someone an evening fragrance, this would be a good option.

Million Gold for Her Pure Jasmine

Year

2025

Key notes: Mandarin, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Solar Notes

As the name suggests, this fragrance is very jasmine-forward. It’s the central note, the opulence of the white floral shining through without hesitance. I enjoy the citrusy, honeyed sweetness of the opening and the overall brightness of the scent. But when they dissipate, it feels like a very generic jasmine.

Million Gold for Her Pure Diamonds

Year

2026

Notes

Top: Peach, Bergamot

Middle: Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang

Base: Musk, Vanilla

2026 unofficially being the year of the fruity flanker, the perfume has a peach opening.

Peach is one of the more popular fruits of choice for the fruity designer perfumes coming out this year. We’ve seen it in Dior Addict Peachy Glow (from the tail end of 2025, also with jasmine), we’re set to have Lancôme Idôle Peach ‘N Roses soon. So, you won’t be starved for peachy floral options. Peach and jasmine is a winning combo. I love it in Memo Paris Madurai

We get a juicy peachy from the get go along with well blended florals. There’s a sweetness deeper than the vanilla in the notes and it feel like coumarin with an almond-y character. There’s some of the cool feeling of lavender as we got in the first Million Gold for Her from 2024. A bit of a patchouli depth and faint woody-earthy undertones in the drydown.

It’s nothing remarkable, not like the bottle with the peachy pink juice, the signature Paco Rabanne XL link, this time encrusted with sparkling stones. It’s beautiful and definitely not bad, but forgettable.

The name is ridiculous. As though Million Gold for Her wasn’t long enough, it’s now Million Gold for Her Pure Diamonds. There doesn’t seem to be much care in name perfumes as most of them become slightly varying flankers, a new release or 2 each year demanding longer names. The name isn’t memorable.

Now that we’ve added diamonds to the gold and the million dollars, are we soon getting other gemstones? Million Gold for Her Pure Emeralds? Million Gold for Her Pure Sapphires?

Who, outside the perfume enthusiast community, is going to remember the name? Maybe it’s intentional. A forgettable name for a forgettable fragrance. All they have is Gigi Hadid’s unforgettable face for help.

Million Gold for Her Pure Diamonds is available in a 90ml bottle for AED 660 at Sephora.Read more about both forgettable and unforgettable perfumes right here on Perfume Mag.
