Fashion House Moschino is known for its campy designs that take jabs at the high-mindedness in the world of designer brands. Perfume lovers are in luck with Moschino championing the silly and serious in the world of fragrances as well. The cutest result of their campy style is their Toy collection, which began in 2014 with Moschino Toy, a fuzzy little bear wearing a ‘This is Not a Moschino Toy’ t-shirt.
Following the success of Moschino Toy, more perfumes were added to the collection:
- Toy 2- 2018
- Toy Boy- 2019
- Toy 2 Bubblegum- 2021
- Toy 2 Pearl- 2023
It seems there is a new Toy release every two years as Moschino announced Toy Boy 2. Let’s do a #Throwback(Not)Thursday in 2025 of all years and have a quick look back at the other Moschino Toys.

Moschino Toy
Top: Cardamom, Juniper Berries, Mandarin Orange, Bergamot
Middle: Lavender, Violet, Hawthorn
Base: Cedar, Moss, Vanilla, Sandalwood
Moschino Toy is an aromatic woody fragrance and I love that it feels like what the air smells like before you’re approached by a fuzzy baby bear looking for its mom. A very refreshing citrusy opening and later, a lovely woody-aromatic smell. Not the most out-of-the-box perfume like the out-of-the-box bottle, but it’s really enjoyable. It’s hard to find these days, so if you can, you’re in luck.

Moschino Toy 2
Notes
Top: Apple, Mandarin Orange, Magnolia
Middle: White Currant, Peony, Jasmine
Base: Musk, Sandalwood, Amberwood
The opening is crisp and exciting with a blend of apple, white currant, and mandarin orange. It’s sweet and energizing with soft florals. A very youthful and fun fragrance, which along with the matte finish bear bottle is great for young people or honestly, anyone with a bit of whimsy in their hearts.

Moschino Toy Boy
Notes
Top: Bergamot, Green Pear, Elemi, Pink Pepper, Nutmeg
Middle: Magnolia, Rose Absolute, Clove Bud, Flax Flower
Base: Haitian Vetiver, Cashmerean, Sandalwood, Sylkolide, Amber
Toy Boy continues in Moschino’s tradition of mocking tradition. The infantilizing ‘boy’ is great to see among the array of grown women’s fragrances with the word ‘girl’ in it. The bottle is a shiny black bear which might lead you to think it’s a leather perfume, but it isn’t. It’s a strong rose fragrance that brings out the heavy, almost beastly facets of the traditionally feminine floral note. The kick of pepper, the woody-ambery drydown all make for a bold masculinity that only looks inward for validation.

Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum
Notes
Top: Candied Fruits, Bitter Orange, Lemon
Middle: Bubble Gum, Bulgarian Rose, Peach, Blueberry, Peach Blossom, Cinnamon, Ginger
Base: Musk, Ambroxan, Cedar
The bottle doesn’t mislead for this ultra sweet perfume. There’s too many finishes on this bottle– transparent glass for the body, frosted for the bear’s legs, opaque plastic for the bear head cap which invokes candy, and the metallic raised lettering for the name. It should all be a mess, but it isn’t. At the risk of repeating myself, it is a fun bottle.
The fragrance within is equally fun with a fruity candy opening and an abundance of the bubble gum pink accord. The florals come through as the scent progresses, the cinnamon quite prominent in the mix. In the drydown, it transforms into something woody, a calm after the storm of sweetness.

Moschino Toy 2 Pearl
Notes
Toy 2 Pearl brings a cool sensation from the get go, like ice cream by the seaside with the aromatic touch of oregano and freshness of lemon. The lemony sorbet makes this a unique gourmand with an energizing vibe. The synthetic accord of sand has a sunscreen smell (in a good way) that takes you back to summer days spent building sandcastles on the beach. With it is the feeling of creamy white florals soaps that add a clean touch. The drydown is mostly a skin scent with a pleasant touch of woodiness. Like you have returned home from the beach and relishing in the comfort of your own presence.

Moschino Toy Boy 2
Notes
I’m looking forward to the warm spiciness of nutmeg contrasting the cold sharp kick that ginger could bring to a fragrance that seems to be more on the warm side. I love seeing ginger make a return after its appearance in the bubblegum fragrance. A rather interesting spice that is sure to spice up (Ha!) any fragrance it is found in. I’m curious to know how the coffee would show up here as it is quickly becoming one of my favourite gourmands.
Which one is your favorite Moschino Toy?
