Since the beginning of the line in 2018, we’ve had many variations and the newest is Burberry Her Parfum. How does she compare to her predecessors and who is she for? Let’s have a quick look:
Burberry Her
Created by Francis Kurkdjian in 2018, Burberry Her is the fruity floral gourmand that began the line. With strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry, the perfume establishes itself as fun and sweet from the get go. It isn’t anything different or revolutionary, but that is exactly what makes it a universally enjoyed fragrance.
Burberry Her Blossom
True to its name, the 2019 perfume that made Burberry Her a collection focuses more on the floral aspects of the still developing Burberry Her DNA. Inspired by the beginning of spring in London, the perfume uses peony and a fantasy accord of plum blossom. The clean, fresh floral perfume dries down to the comforting and creamy sandalwood and musks. It is light and airy, like springtime air. It’s pleasant and easy to wear.
Burberry Her Intense
The now discontinued Intense (2019) flanker showed off a denser side of the Burberry Her fruits with a red fruit accord and blackberry. With jasmine and a resinous benzoin base, this perfume was the collection’s first foray into something deeper. Though it is discontinued, you can still find it through a few third party perfume sellers in the UAE.
Burberry Her London Dream
The limited edition perfume from 2020 was the first in the collection to be composed by perfumers other than Francis Kurkdjian– Jérôme di Marino and Maïa Lernout. It is also vastly different from the original Burberry Her. The floral character remains, but there’s a lemon and ginger on top that adds a vibrant energy. While discontinued, the perfume is widely available through most other sellers including Sephora.
Burberry Her Eau de Toilette
Green pear, honeysuckle, and lily-of-the-valley distinguish the eau de toilette concentration from the others in the line. It’s fresh, its sweetness mild, and its florals soft. It feels like a breath of fresh summer air in the tranquility of a lush, green expanse.
Burberry Her Elixir de Parfum
A softer pink bottle of Burberry Her alludes to something milky. A strawberry milkshake is the most popular and accurate description. A Burberry Her that won’t disappear as quickly with a deeper, richer profile. If you found the strawberry to be too sharp in Burberry Her, but the soft strawberry here might convince you. Creamy, milky, and soft, it is the brand’s contribution to the popularity of gourmands in perfumery.
Burberry Her Petals
The soft pink petals suspended in a gel-like consistency of the perfume makes this bottle the most interesting one of all Burberry Her bottles. It’s quite similar to the original, but with more of a powdery character that comes from the addition of violet. This limited-edition fragrance is still available through some retailers in the UAE.
Burberry Her Intense (2024)
Burberry Her Intense from 2019 is turned opaque and a light, almost white pink. While 2019’ Intense was an ambery sweet with its resinous base, this one creates depth with ambroxan. There’s a skin-like warmth in the drydown, departing from the vanillic warmth of benzoin. The jasmine at the floral heart of Her is replaced by orange blossom for a clean white floral effect.
Burberry Her Parfum
Yes, a lot of flankers of late have been fruity, but Burberry Her has always been fruity. So I won’t accuse them of lack of creativity. Pear returns from the eau de toilette, but this time with a pleasant cherry. The cherry isn’t dark or syrupy, but more realistic and juicy.
The parfum feels like a harmony of the two most loved perfumes in the line, Her and Her Elixir. The bright juiciness of the former and the soft, creamy personality of the latter. It’s also the msot gourmand of their gourmand scents with the whipped cream accord and vanilla.
It isn’t anything you need to rush out there to buy. If you love the elixir and running out of your bottle and want to experiment a little without straying too far from your favorite, I recommend the new Her Parfum. I’d say this about all the Her perfumes and I’ll say it now too. It’s nothing you must add to your collection, but it’s surely nice to have.
