Kylie Jenner has launched Mood Stones, a three-piece Kylie jenner perfume collection made up of Cashmere Muse (a fresh floral musk), Blush Wood (a romantic woody floral), and Velvet Brew (a bold coffee and amber spice), each a 50ml eau de parfum built around a different mood. The trio went live on kyliecosmetics.com on July 30, hit Ulta Beauty on August 2, and reaches the UK through Boots in mid-August.
This is the follow-up to her Cosmic line, which started with Coty back in 2024 and ran through a couple of flankers. The idea this time is a small fragrance wardrobe instead of one signature scent, three moods in three stone-shaped bottles you’re meant to rotate like outfits. Whether people buy all three at once is another question, but at $68 a bottle it’s easier to justify than most celebrity drops.
Kylie Cosmetics Cashmere Muse
Notes
Top: bergamot, mandarin blossom
Middle: ylang ylang, frangipani
Base: tonka absolute, salted musk
The quiet one. Frangipani is the tropical flower you smell in a Hawaiian lei, creamy and a little banana-soft, and it keeps this from going sharp. Salted musk is exactly what it sounds like, a clean skin musk with a faint saline edge, so the whole thing sits close to the body like a good skin scent. Early reviews call it the sweetest of the three but also the most low-key, which tracks. If you like Glossier You or the clean-musk lane in general, this is your pick. Even though vanilla isn’t listed, the tonka gives it a soft sweetness that reads a bit vanilla anyway.
Kylie Cosmetics Blush Wood
Notes
Top: apple, rose
Middle: honeysuckle, gardenia
Base: vanilla absolute, cedarwood
The flirty one. It opens powdery, with a soft rose cut by juicy apple so it doesn’t feel old-fashioned. Honeysuckle and gardenia give it that walking-through-a-garden feel, then cedarwood and vanilla warm it up at the end. Reviewers peg it as a golden-hour, date-night scent, softer and sweeter than most rose perfumes bother to be.
Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Brew
Notes
Top: hazelnut, plum
Middle: coffee flower, orange blossom
Base: coffee, patchouli oil
The bold one, and the most interesting. Coffee flower is worth explaining: it’s the blossom of the coffee plant, not the roasted bean, so it smells honeyed and jasmine-like rather than like your morning cup. The actual roasted coffee shows up in the base with patchouli for that dark, sultry-lounge feel, while hazelnut and plum keep the opening sweet without tipping into dessert. If you know Montale Intense Café or Maison Margiela Coffee Break, Velvet Brew sits in that coffee-gourmand family but leans softer and more floral up top. Save it for cold evenings.
Across the three, the florals do very different jobs: frangipani keeps Cashmere Muse creamy and calm, rose makes Blush Wood romantic, and orange blossom softens the coffee in Velvet Brew. All three are eau de parfum and wear moderate and close rather than filling a room, so expect a reapplication or two over a long day. The Mood Stones are $68 each at Kylie Cosmetics and Ulta in the US, and £48 for the 50ml at Boots in the UK, with a 10ml pen spray at Harrods for £23. A UAE stockist hasn’t been confirmed yet.
