A Look at Every Versace Eros Perfume

Versace first released its Eros perfume in 2012 to embody unrestrained desire and passion. Donatella Versace described it as the DNA of the house of Versace. Since then, the house has worked with various perfumers to release many iterations of the Eros fragrance. Here’s a quick overview of every Versace Eros perfume, how they are similar and how they vary…

Versace Eros

Top notes: Mint, Green Apple, Lemon

Middle notes: Tonka Bean, Ambroxan, Geranium

Base notes: Madagascar Vanilla, Virginian Cedar, Atlas Cedar, Vetiver, Oakmoss

The Eau de Toilette is a fresh aromatic fragrance that opens with mint, green apple, and lemon. It’s quite versatile, fit for any time of the year and throughout the day. The oak moss, geranium, vetiver, and tonka bean make it a classic fougere scent. But it takes a risk with a sweet vanilla that pays off in making this a very different fragrance. This is the one to go with when you want to smell good without standing out.

Versace Eros Eau de Parfum

Top notes: Mint, Candy Apple, Lemon, Mandarin Orange

Middle notes: Ambroxan, Geranium, Clary Sage

Base notes: Vanilla, Cedar, Sandalwood, Bitter Orange, Patchouli, Leather

The Eau de Parfum is a more long lasting yet intimate fragrance that moves from the fougere personality of the EdT and into a more woody feeling with cedar and sandalwood. The bitter orange makes it wonderfully tarty and the clary sage in the heart brings a green, herbaceous tone. It’s fresh yet sweet, fading into gentle woods later. It’s a long lasting fragrance but I’d recommend it more for evenings or a day out rather than for work.

Versace Eros Parfum

Top notes: Mint, Lemon, Black Pepper, Elemi, Litsea Cubeba

Middle notes: Green Apple, Geranium, Lavender, Sage, Pomarose

Base notes: Tonka Bean, Amber, Vanilla, Patchouli, Benzoin

The parfum is the smooth, creamy version of the original while still retaining the freshness we love from this line. The citrusy freshness here has a sharpness to it from the black pepper and listea cubeba, an interesting note you don’t see often. It’s fresh but strong. This version is an attention grabber and knows how to have fun but will also have a deep conversation with you about life.

Versace Eros Flame

Top notes: Mandarin Orange, Madagascar Pepper, Lemon, Chinotto, Rosemary

Middle notes: Geranium, Rose, Pepperwood

Base notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Texas Cedar, Patchouli, Oakmoss

Eros Flame is contradiction in a bottle- sweet but spicy, light but mysterious, cool but hot like pepper. It starts off citrusy fresh with a kick of spice. It’s a rich, warm, well blended fragrance that gives the energy of a ‘man with a good taste’ while the original Eros is more like a man who found something good and decided to stick by it forever. It’s a smooth fragrance that’s set out to make you smell and feel more distinctive.

Versace Eros Energy

Top notes:  Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Blood Orange, Sicilian Bergamot, Mandarin Orange

Middle notes: White Amber, Pink Pepper, Black Currant

Base notes: Musk, Oakmoss, Patchouli

This is the most citrusy citrus designer fragrance I’ve ever come across. The opening is entirely citrus, giving a sort of Mediterranean vibe to make you feel like you’re on a summer vacation. It’s very youthful, somewhat basic, but something you can’t really go wrong with. It has a background of sweetness to it that can make it feel like candied lemons. There is a lot of comparison to Creed Aventus, but I don’t see the similarities as Eros Energy doesn’t have the fruity and woody aura that makes Aventus what it is.

Versace Eros Najim

Top notes: Caramel, Italian Mandarin

Middle notes: Cardamom, Oud

Base notes:  Incense, Patchouli, Vetiver

Najim has tried to weave oud into the Eros DNA and I can’t say they’ve been successful. It feels quite synthetic, and while that’s not my cup of tea, it could be yours. The fresh sweetness of apple is replaced by the heavy sweetness of caramel, but it does fade away rather than stay throughout the fragrance’s life on the skin. It dries down to be warm and somewhat woody with smoky undertones. It performs well under the Dubai sun.

Versace Eros Pour Femme Eau de Toilette

Top notes: Sicilian Lemon, Raspberry, White Currant, Mandarin Orange, Calone

Middle notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Magnolia, Freesia

Base notes: Musk, Ambroxan, Woody Notes, Patchouli

It opens with the citrusy freshness we’ve come to expect from an Eros perfume. It moves on to a very feminine bouquet of white florals that makes it a heady, deep scent. When you can wear it depend largely on your age. Younger women growing up with the mild skin scents and sweet gourmands may not like this for everyday. But older women who want to add to their everyday elegance should go for this.

Versace Eros Pour Femme

Top notes: Sicilian Lemon, Pomegranate, Calabrian bergamot

Middle notes: Lemon Blossom, Jasmine Sambac, Jasmine, Peony

Base notes: Musk, Ambroxan, Woodsy Notes, Sandalwood

It’s a more delicate counterpart of the EdT. It’s lighter and can be worn everyday. Unlike the other Eros for women, this one dries down more powdery and soft. Sandalwood adds to the comforting base along with the woody notes for an overall understated perfume good to wear when all you want is to smell nice.
