We open with the nutty delight that is central to the addicting taste (and smell) of a bar of Dubai Chocolate. The specialty of the pistachio comes from the mild greenness in the background, something you don’t get in other nutty accords. Along with the toasted vermicelli, you get a crisp and deep opening. As you move toward the heart of the fragrance, there is a softer and silkier profile thanks to the cream and chocolate accords.
With time comes more depth. The cream and chocolate are both sweet, but offer dimension through their contradictions. The cream is soft and airy while the chocolate feels quite rich and velvety. Like the Dubai Chocolate we bite into, this stage of wearing the perfume is for those who love an abundance of sweetness. It cuts no corners in delivering the utmost richness and luxury. I would advise that only gourmand lovers get a bottle of this as it isn’t for the faint of heart.
The creaminess of the cream note complements the caramelized sugar base. This caramelized sugar toes the line between the bright coolness of a sugar note and the depth, warmth of a caramel note. There is a warmth to it, but it isn’t dense or give a candied feel. The fragrance then mellows out towards its final stages. At this stage, it feels warm and cosy. The caramelized feeling also creates a nutty dimension that sits like the memory of something delicious from many hours ago, a hazy memory of pistachio but not quite. A call to have another bite of Dubai Chocolate— another spritz.
