Yazhini ManimudiLattafa’s Angham, released in 2024, quickly became one of the most popular vanilla perfumes and one of the best Burberry Goddess dupes. We now have a second Angham, beautifully named Second Song.
Notes
Top: Pear Blossom, Bergamot
Middle: Peony, Orange Blossom, Praline
Base: Vanilla, Musk, Ambroxan, Tonka
Pretty and pleasant from the get go. Like a fancy pear blossom scented body wash. This is enhanced by the peony, making the perfume quite airy and fresh. Delicate as a spring floral fragrance. At this stage, it feels too similar to another Lattafa perfume- The Kingdom for Her. Only less fruity and more floral.
While the praline lends some sweetness, it doesn’t feel altogether enough to bring it close to the first Angham. Over time, the praline might age enough to play a stronger role, but that is yet to be seen. The vanilla base is much more toned down as compared to the vanilla in the first. With the ambroxan in the base, there’s also some sharpness that, when paired with fresh florals, feels unpleasant before mellowing out.
In about 5 hours or so, Second Song settles into a pleasant skin scent.
Angham was a fragrance that wowed me and unfortunately I cannot say the same about Angham Second Song. It’s quite generic as a fresh spring floral fragrance. It’s nice and you most certainly won’t hate it. A good perfume to gift a woman when you don’t really know her perfume preferences. It’s also good for the workplace as it doesn’t project much and is quite mild.
Perhaps I went in with unfairly high expectations. Lattafa Angham Second Song is entirely unrelated to Angham and quite an unremarkable melody.
