Yazhini ManimudiIf you’re all about lighter perfumes, you’ve definitely heard of the body mists from the Brazilian-American brand Sol de Janeiro. The latest addition to their line is Cheirosa ‘91, a light floral air with the summery joy part of every Sol de Janeiro mist.

The tropical energy hits you from the beginning with the synthetically created passionfruit accord. Native to southern Brazil (and Paraguay and northern Argentina), Passionfruit encapsulates the vibrance of a tropical summer so integral to the DNA of the brand’s fragrances.
The rose is mild and youthful, suitable for someone skeptical about the queen of flowers and its reputation for being somewhat mature. It pairs well with the rosy undertone of pink pepper, staying in the background as the sweeter base shines through. In the line of lighter florals, Cheirosa ‘91 employs magnolia known for its fresh, somewhat lemony character. A white floral without the reputation of a strong, heady character.
This is only their second foray into rose, their first being a ‘white rose petals’ accord in Flor Mística from 2025, a fragrance not officially released to the UAE market but found through other sellers. While rose was barely there in Flor Mística, its presence is more noticeable in Cheirosa ‘91. Calling it ‘Rose, remixed’ and calling for us to ‘vibe to a new rose’, their intention to present the fragrance as a modern rose is very clear.
This new rose, while beautiful, is one that disappears quite fast into the perfume’s life on your skin. So if rose is what you need most, I’d advise that you look elsewhere. If rose isn’t your usual go-to, but you’re rose-curious, I’d say give it a try.
Along with this is a mild creamy pistachio that bridges the soft fruity-florals with the gourmand notes that form the background of this fragrance. Towards the end, you are left with these gourmands- a honeyed caramel and bright sugar grounded in sandalwood and ambery accords.
Sol de Janeiro have released a matching scented body cream to go with the mist. They recommend that you layer the Rosa Charmosa™ Dewy Cream beneath the mist for a longer-lasting experience that comes with well moisturized skin. You might really enjoy Rosa Charmosa as the brand is known for making some wonderful body care products (like the Delícia Drench Body Butter we’ve discussed before).
But if that’s too strong for you, you can go with an unscented body lotion instead to reap the benefits of moisturized skin without paying extra for a scented body cream.
I should note that this is yet another fruity-floral perfume and we’ve been seeing a wave of those lately. If you’re excited by the fruity-forward perfumes dominating 2026, don’t forget this 2025 release.
Cheirosa ‘91 is available in the UAE at Sephora. The 90ml bottle is priced at AED 115 and the 240ml for AED 170.
