The Tom Ford Fragrance Taylor Swift Loves

Taylor Swift loves Travis Kelce but what we care about more here is how she loves the 2011 Tom Ford fragrance Santal Blush. Taylor has perfumes to her name like many celebrities with that level of fame- Wonderstruck (2011), Wonderstruck Enchanted (2012), Taylor (2013), Taylor by Taylor Swift made of Starlight (2014), and Incredible Things (2014). But with their discontinuation, Taylor has definitely moved on to other fragrances.

It was when her 2020 Netflix documentary ‘Miss Americana’ was released that we found out. She didn’t even have to mention it. All it took for her devoted fans was a frame with a bottle of Tom Ford Santal Blush in the background. It took until the 2024 MTV VMAs, but Taylor herself confirmed that she wore the Tom Ford fragrance. So, what does Taylor Swift smell like?

Tom Ford Santal Blush

Notes

Top: Spices, Cinnamon, Caraway, Fenugreek, Carrot Seeds

Middle: Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Rose

Base: Sandalwood, Benzoin, Virginia Cedar, Musk, Oud

The woody spicy perfume was released in 2011 as part of the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection, made without the constraints of traditional perfume making to create unique, artisanal blends. It’s a bold yet elegant fragrance with rich woods and spices. No one expected the woman who has made the red lip her signature look to go for something less than.

It’s quite the calming fragrance thanks to the sandalwood, decorated by an array of spices. The musky-sandal partnership is more prevalent in the beginning, but as we move on, the fresher elements become more obvious. The spices are not overpowering, there to add character to the woody aspects rather than to take center stage. The florals in the heart are also subtle, adding another layer of complexity. While oud is known to be strong, it too is subdued here. In all, none of the notes try to overpower the other, playing together well to give off a luxurious fragrance. It manages to be both intimate and rich.

The use of the carrot seed note is very interesting here with its green-woody-earthy character. Though it only lasts for a little while in the beginning, it succeeds in marking Santal Blush as a unique fragrance in your mind. While it is a unique fragrance, it’s not so different that it won’t appeal to the larger market. So you don’t have to worry that it may be in any way offensive to those around you.

It’s a wonderfully unisex fragrance, balancing the popular preferences of the genders in the perfume market. It lasts a good 6-7 hours, forming a small woody scent bubble around you. It doesn’t leave behind much of a scent trail, making it suitable for enclosed spaces. I would recommend usage in colder months and at nights, but I wouldn’t be bothered to catch a whiff of this in the air on summer days.

In all, the perfume is just so Taylor.
