As easy as it is to shop for perfumes in the UAE, it is also risky. Sure, we know to avoid too good to be true prices and websites that look dodgy, but it’s really trickier with perfumes than it is for other products. You’ll only know if it’s a genuine product once you spray it on and can fully trust it only if you have sampled the fragrance before.
We can trust that if sellers/manufacturers have received awards for their work, their products would be good enough for us to give a try.
The Big Box Global Retail & E-Commerce Summit was held at the Millenium Plaza Downtown Hotel yesterday in Dubai. This comes after their successful events in other countries, namely Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia.
Most important for us at Perfume Mag is the perfume companies that won big at the ceremony:
Al Haramain Perfumes
Fragrance Retailer of the Year
Al Haramain Perfumes make some of the most wonderful fragrances right here in the UAE. They’ve been creating some of the region’s favorite fragrances since the 70s and are best known for the Amber Oud Collection. The best thing about Al Haramain for me is how affordable their fragrances are for just how luxurious they smell. As someone who loves beautiful packaging, I can’t not say that the Al Haramain bottles and the boxes they come in are so creative and luxurious.
They have their own physical stores, sell online through their website, and through other retailers and e-tailers.
V Perfumes
#1 Online Perfume Retailer of the Year
If you’re in the UAE, there’s no way you don’t live near a V Perfumes. They have stores in most malls and when I pass by one, I always enter to try random perfumes out. Too many times, I’ve walked out of their stores with perfumes when I didn’t even intend to buy any.
Turns out their online perfume game is good, too. They have been in the business since 2010 and in the e-commerce space since 2016. I see perfumes at this place that literally no one else in Dubai stocks. So I can feel cool and not so basic when I find a hidden gem through V Perfumes and someone asks me what I’m wearing.
I have more experience with their stores, but their online shopping experience is good too. They have a good return policy, delivery pretty quickly, and have very good discounts every now and then. There’s an autumn-adjacent sale right now if you’re looking to swap out your summer perfumes for seasonally appropriate ones.
Samawa
The Fastest Growing Perfume E-Commerce Brand
Samawa began all the way back in 2008, several financial crises ago, but they’ve skyrocketed into popularity more recently. What I love most about Samawa is the wide range of brands they hold. So many international niche brands that would otherwise take way too long to arrive in the UAE are already at Samawa. They have physical locations as well as their now award winning e-commerce website.
What I really want to try is their ‘Make Your Own Perfumes’ service.
